Expert tasting note: (2009 vintage) "A dark ruby-red color is not opaque. Lifted red-fruit aromas of mulberry & raspberry open to bitter licorice notes & black-plum. The palate initially displays plush tannins as concentrated dark fruit balances warming acidity. The wine is medium to full bodied. Good acidity gives length to a spicy, gripping finish. The wine quickly opens showing developed savory notes that suggests this should be drunk relatively soon rather than be given long ageing." - 11/24 DCAMW
